MAXWELL E. BOCKLAGE

Maxwell E. Bocklage (b. 2008) is an American contemporary composer, pianist, percussionist and singer from Maryland, USA. His work explores the emotional depth of his experiences through influences of jazz, hip-hop, classical, and modern wind ensemble music. His works have been premiered by ensembles including the Rising Sun High School Concert Band and the Upper Chesapeake Summer Center for the Arts Wind Ensemble, which gave the premiere of his piece Voyage.

Outside of composing, Max is deeply interested in design, technology, video editing, filmmaking, and personal development, often integrating these influences into his creative process. He is currently preparing for collegiate study in music composition, with aspirations to contribute to the next generation of contemporary wind ensemble repertoire. He studies under composer Adrian B. Sims, and vocal coach Suzanne Chadwick.
